Sustainability & Ethics

At Status Quan we source premium luxury fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool. These are all natural fibres that are bio-degradable – unlike man-made fibres which shed plastics that pollute our waterways and bodies.

Natural fibres also breathe, which means they are easier on your skin and help to regulate your body temperature throughout the seasons.

We make garments in limited quantities to avoid waste. And we continuously search for innovative ways to reduce our impact on the environment.

This approach to sustainability applies to materials used in the production of Status Quan garments – from the fabric, to the thread, and the brand and care labels.

WHY CHOOSE COTTON

Cotton is prized for its exceptional breathability, lightness and softness - which makes it perfect for sleepwear and loungewear.

Since it's a completely natural fibre, it doesn't contain any synthetic compounds so it's easily biodegradable.

And when done right, cotton can actually sequester carbon and improve soil health and biodiversity.

Today's cotton farmers produce more cotton on less land, with more efficient water use and less impact on the environment than ever before.

OUR LINEN

The linen we use is from an Australian supplier who source their flax from France and Belgium. They use a high grade long staple yarn which means the linen won’t pill and it has a beautiful density.

All of their mills and the dyes they use, meet the strict criteria for the Oeko-Tex 100 standard. This standard is one of the world’s best-known certifications for textiles tested for harmful substances. It stands for customer confidence and high product safety.
